Cyber Essentials

Cyber Essentials

Your essential guide

Cyber Essentials is a government-backed, industry supported scheme to help organisations protect themselves against common cyber attacks.

The Cyber Essentials scheme is designed to be easy to understand, with a checklist based on 10 Steps to Cyber Security. There is also an additional option to upgrade to Cyber Essential Plus certification, depending on your business needs, for which we can help assess.  We can also provide guidance on the SAQ (self-assessment questionnaire), which is part of certification.

There are several advantages of becoming a Cyber Essentials certified company:

  • demonstrate awareness of security breaches and threats
  • use the Cyber Essentials logo on your website to secure contracts
  • scope to develop a security plan that is tailored for your business needs
How can Cyber Essentials benefit business

Cyber Essentials benefits any business by demonstrating that you take looking after your customers and suppliers data, seriously.  But in particular it works for:

  • industries that are public organisations, such as Local Government, Healthcare and other public bodies; and
  • obtaining Government contracts, such as working for the MOD (Ministry of Defence)
The government has worked with the Information Assurance for Small and Medium Enterprises (IASME) consortium and the Information Security Forum (ISF) to develop Cyber Essentials to make sure it is suitable for your business size.

H2 has partnered with a Cyber Essentials accrediting body, combined with our expertise in preparing for accreditation, and combined with our focus on smaller sized businesses and our expertise in information risk management and security, ion order to help you to become a certified company.
